Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Smithfield website. We are located on Main Street in North Richland Hills, Texas. We are delighted that you have stumbled upon our website. Our church is a historic one, founded August 22, 1895 on the western frontiers of West Texas. The church was founded by a Baptist missionary, George Washington Green and eleven other pioneering baptists, burdened to proclaim and evangelize the region and settle it with the good news of Jesus Christ. The twelve founders sought the cooperation of fellow believers from the Smithfield United Methodist Church to raise a small, but efficient place of worship and meet together regularly for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today, the First Baptist Church of Smithfield proudly carries on its strong Southern Baptist heritage of evangelism and mission to our community. Situated just minutes in either direction from downtown Fort Worth or Dallas, we actively serve the mid-cities region of the DFW Metroplex. FBC Smithfield commits to Love God. Love Others. Serve Both. We are a growing community of believers, committed to the same biblical principles set forth at our founding.
We have a wide variety of activities for all ages and are always looking for ways to improve our community with the love of Jesus Christ. We serve God and others through ongoing monthly service projects such as NRH Adopt-A-Spot, Main Street Manna, and our partnership with Tarrant County Hands of Hope. FBC Smithfield partners with the Community Enrichment Center (CEC) through events like BISD Refresh and Breakfast with Santa. These acts of kindness provide opportunities to share the gospel with those we serve with the love of God.
We love our church…it’s true, but we really love our neighbors (that’s you). We invite you to join us for one of our weekly services and come and see and experience the great work of the Lord God in our midst right here in Smithfield. Take a few moments and peruse these pages and what you will find is a sweet, smaller baptist church with a big heart and personal touch. It’s just who we are. We make no excuses about our Jesus or our Baptists roots, need no smoke and mirrors, we are just a church family striving to Love God. Love Others. Serve Both.
